When Will we see Padel at the Olympics? The 4 New Fiberglass courts near Club France in Paris 2024 reignite the Debate

It will take some more time before Padel officially becomes an Olympic sport, but the installation of the 4 new Fiberglass courts at La Villette in Paris alleviates the wait.

When Will we see Padel at the Olympics? The 4 New Fiberglass courts near Club France in Paris 2024 reignite the Debate

The Paris 2024 Olympic Games have been underway for more than a week now, and after days of entertainment, sports but also controversy in the shadow of the Eiffel Tower, it is already almost time to draw conclusions and project ourselves to future editions.
One of the hottest topics concerns precisely padel and there are many who continue to wonder how it is possible that it is still not officially an Olympic sport despite its incredible success on a global scale.

Indeed, it is not enough to have nearly 45,000 padel courts around the world, not enough Premier Padel tournaments for thousands of spectators, not enough sponsors, televisions and the growing interest around this fantastic sport.
To see padel at the Olympics, specific conditions need to be met, and in this article we bring them to you.

What padel lacks to be an Olympic sport?Index

Padel meets three of the four necessary requirements:
1. International Padel Federation (IPF): the IPF, supported by the IOC, oversees and organizes tournaments globally.
2. Anti-doping regulations: padel complies with current anti-doping regulations.
3. Absence of motor propulsion: as a racquet sport, padel does not use any kind of motor

However, padel still does not reach the global spread required for final approval. According to IPF data, in 2022 there were 50 national federations on five continents, a figure that does not meet the minimum standards of the Olympic Charter (the discipline must be practiced in at least 75 countries and 4 continents in the men's category, and in 40 countries and 3 continents in the women's category).

In addition to this, it should be noted that for the next edition of the Olympics to be held in Los Angeles in 2028, the IPF is already out of time since approval from the International Olympic Committee is required at least 7 years in advance.
Therefore, to see padel among the disciplines of the Olympic Games, we will most likely have to wait for the 2032 edition to be held in Brisbane.

The 4 Fiberglass Padel Courts just installed near Club France in Paris 2024 ease the waitIndex

For those who are in Paris to watch the spectacle of the Olympic Games these days, however, there is good news in that regard and one that will surely help give fans a taste of padel even in this orphaned 20x10 edition.
At the Jules Ladomegue Sports Center, a few steps away from Club France in La Villette neighborhood, four brand new Fiberglass Padel Courts by NXPadel were installed a few days ago. As we anticipated you in one of our latest articles, it is a project that makes us particularly proud since it was the Ville de Paris itself that strongly wanted our innovative padel courts to complete and make the Parisian sports center even more up to date.
The model chosen could only be our N1A, with Fiberglass structure and ComfortGlass walls for a 100% safe and risk-free playing experience that among other things guarantees a zero level of maintenance for the club's operators.

So it really has to be said, if the Olympics don't come to Padel, it's Padel that has come to the Olympics and there is no better occasion than this to inaugurate these fantastic courts while waiting for our favorite sport to be finally welcomed under the five circles.
